Teranga Youth Dance Intensive

Kofago Institute Announces Youth Dance Intensive at the 2026 Teranga Conference

The Kofago Institute is proud to present a special Youth Dance Intensive on Friday, June 12th, 2026 at Gibney Studios as part of the second annual Teranga Conference.

This exciting day of movement and cultural learning will feature five dance classes designed for young people who want to go deeper into their study of African Diaspora Dance. The intensive will create an affirming and inspiring space for youth dancers to strengthen their technique, expand their cultural understanding, and engage with the richness of African Diasporic movement traditions.

As a key part of this year’s Teranga Conference, the Youth Dance Intensive reflects our commitment to building spaces where art, education, and cultural knowledge come together in service of the next generation. Young dancers will have the opportunity to learn in a focused environment that honors discipline, creativity, history, and community.

The Teranga Conference theme, “Guardians of Culture: Building Sanctuary through Art and Education,” reminds us that our young people are not only students of the culture, but future carriers of it. This intensive is an opportunity for them to grow in knowledge, confidence, and connection through movement.

We invite youth dancers, educators, and families to join us for this powerful day at Gibney Studios.

Stay tuned for registration details and additional conference updates through the Kofago Institute.
