Thank You for an Unforgettable Teranga Conference 2026!

From all of us at the Kofago Institute, thank you.

The 2026 Teranga Conference was a powerful celebration of dance, culture, scholarship, and community — and it would not have been possible without each and every one of you. To everyone who came out, moved with us, taught, learned, performed, volunteered, partnered, and contributed in ways big and small: you are the heartbeat of this work, and we are endlessly grateful.

Over three unforgettable days, we welcomed young dancers to our Youth Dance Intensive, gathered with master teachers and living legends in workshops at the Ailey Studios, deepened our practice through research and pedagogy, and filled the house for our signature performance, Kassoumaii, at Lehman College. Together, we created a space rooted in Teranga — the spirit of hospitality, warmth, and welcome — and you embodied it beautifully.

To our teaching artists, presenters, students, educators, volunteers, partners, and supporters: thank you for sharing your time, your talent, and your love of culture. To everyone who filled the audience and danced alongside us: thank you for being part of this living tradition. This community is what makes the Teranga Conference so special, and we carry your energy forward into everything we do.

Save the Dates — Teranga Conference 2027!

The journey continues, and we want you with us. Mark your calendars now:
