Patriann Edwards – Director of Research and STEM Initiatives

Patriann “Firegoddess” Edwards is a multidisciplinary performing artist, dance educator, and independent cultural researcher from Trinidad & Tobago. Extensively trained in Afro-traditional and folk dance forms of Trinidad & Tobago, West African dance, and the fire arts, she holds a BFA in Performing Arts (Dance) from the University of Trinidad & Tobago.

As Kofago Institute’s Director of Research and STEM Initiatives, Edwards advances research-informed program development, documentation, and learning design that strengthens Kofago’s educational impact and interdisciplinary partnerships. Grounded in cultural preservation and multicultural learning, her work elevates Caribbean cultural knowledge—especially the movement traditions of Trinidad & Tobago—through approaches that integrate dance, language learning through folk songs, call-and-response, storytelling, and mas-making.
